GRAND THEFT AUTO: VICE CITY STORIES
SPECIAL VEHICLES WALKTHROUGH
Version 1.0

1. VICE CITY IS YOURS AGAIN
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Flashback to the early 80s, and you're back in Vice City. As usual, you will
be dealing and killing, stealing and driving a lot in a city that thrives in
underworld activities.

Expect some of the usual stuffs, and lots of vehicles to deal with again. Of
course, the special vehicles are back once more for anyone interested in them
to find and collect. It's basically the same characteristics we're talking
about here that make those special vehicles special:

1) Proofing. Vehicle protection from certain types of destruction.
2) Exclusive colors in their vehicle class.
3) Uniqueness. A type of vehicle that's one of its kind.

We're referring here to vehicles having special properties assigned to them
in the game script, and are obtainable without resorting to cheating methods.

As usual, I will include in this guide as valid contributions only those that
are not cheat-modded special vehicles, or vehicles whose special properties
have not been altered by using modding device or cheat codes.

This guide would be divided into five sections:

1. PROOFED VEHICLES
2. EXCLUSIVELY COLORED VEHICLES
3. UNIQUE VEHICLES
4. IDENTICAL SPECIAL VEHICLES
5. UNOBTAINABLE SPECIAL VEHICLES.

This walkthrough will again attempt to document practically every single
special vehicle you can find in the game, inclusion of many of them will
mainly be for the purpose of completion of the list only. Many of them are
practically useless to have, but just for the sake of "case study" they will
be included to cover all the special vehicles that existed in the game.
Besides, there won't be that much garages or garage space to accommodate all
of them, or even at least half of them.

If you have something to contribute or inform me about anything related to
this guide, please write me to this address:

srgvm2005@yahoo.com

I'll be more than glad to correspond with you on anything about special
vehicles ONLY, but not on anything else about the game. Please just do that
in the proper forum or consult other guides.

5. GARAGE FACTS AND FEATURES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Much like in Liberty City Stories, you can have access to only three garages,
and your safehouses with a garage are mission locked: you can use them only
after completing certain missions, and there's no need to make any purchase.

Two of these safehouses with garages are located in the Main Island, which is
where you will have almost half of your entire missions, and the third one is
in the West Island.

These three safehouses with garages are A) 101 Bayshore Avenue in Vice Port,
Main Island, B) The Compound in Little Haiti, Main Island and C) The Clymenus
Suite in Vicepoint West Island.

The two safehouses/garages in the Main Island are accessible before you can
open the other island. In particular, you can use 101 Bayshore Avenue, your
first safehouse, after you complete the mission Conduct Unbecoming for
Martinez. Your second safehouse, The Compound, is useable after you do the
mission D.I.V.O.R.C.E. for Louise Cassidy Williams. The third one, The
Clymenus Suite, opens for you as soon as you cross the other island, upon
completing Lance's mission From Zero to Hero.

*****************************************************************************
5.01: Size and Capacity
*****************************************************************************

The two garages in the Main Island you can use are medium sized ones, they
are almost similar in dimensions, but the first one you'll have accessed to
appears to be longer and wider. The Clymenus Suite safehouse has the biggest
garage, big enough to fit long cars like a Stretch and even big enough for a
Seasparrow to fit in. This one though can only be used at a later part of the
story once the other island is unlocked.

There's the usual safety mechanism employed by the garages where they have a
limited technical capacity. In 101 Bayshore Avenue and The Compound, both
garages have a technical capacity of one (1) vehicle only, while in The
Clymenus Suite, three (3) vehicles are allowed.

But in actual, each garage has an Absolute Capacity of as much as four (4)
vehicles. You can still stuff the garages to the maximum safely, how they can
fit in a given garage will all depend on your layoutSample types of vehicles
that can be stored in your garages include:

1. 101 BAYSHORE AVANUE, Vicepoint, Main Island
   Capacity: 4
Vehicles: Will depend on the size of the vehicles you're storing,
but a sample of what can be stored there is:

   Storage 1:(1)Sentinel XS, (1)Cuban Hermes, (2)Quads
   Storage 2:(1)Rhino, (2)Motorbikes

2. THE COMPOUND, Little Haiti, Main Island
   Capacity: 4
Vehicles: Will depend on the size of the vehicles you're storing,
but a sample of what can be stored there is:

   Storage 1:(1)Pony, (1)Perennial, (1)Ventoso, (1)Biker Angel
   Storage 2:(1)Rhino, (2)Motorbikes

3. THE CLYMENUS SUITE, Vicepoint, West Island
   Capacity: 4
Vehicles: Will depend on the size of the vehicles you're storing,
but a sample of what can be stored there is:

   Storage 1:(1) Rhino, (1)Gang Rancher, (1)Stretch, (1)Infernus

Stuffing your garages full with vehicles is manageable in the game this time.
In the past, jamming your garages with vehicles have always required that you
leave enough space in between the vehicles so that you can still open the
door of a vehicle you need, and get in it to drive it out of the garage.

In VCS however, that seems to have been simplified. You can magically get in
a vehicle by just standing beside the vehicle and pressing the enter command
even when the vehicles are stuffed like sardines in the garage. There's even
no need for squeezing in between them and pushing out a vehicle you need
before you can get in. It's almost similar to getting in a boat, where you
only press enter button, and you're in the vehicle already. This is
definitely most convenient if you need to get in a Rhino and your tank's door
is squeezed for space by other vehicles.

*****************************************************************************
5.02: New Feature
*****************************************************************************

All the garages in Vice City Stories do not restore any destroyed vehicle
unlike in the GTA Trilogy. This is exactly the same case as with the PS2
version of Liberty City Stories. Garages in Vice City Stories can repair a
damaged vehicle, but you can't restore a burnt and blown up one. It will
always disappear inside the garage once you let the door close on it. This
unfamiliar feature makes it impossible then to resort to this as an aspect of
a trick in obtaining the special vehicles, particularly the proofed ones, as
has been the case before with the previous GTA games.

And so, much like in the PS2 version of Liberty City Stories, this only
leaves the option of ditching the car into the water in order to 'destroy" it
without blowing it up should this method is necessary to obtain the proofed
ones.

*****************************************************************************
5.03: Bugged Mechanism and Solution
*****************************************************************************

There's a persistent annoying bug in all the garages, where all stored
vehicles disappear on a regular basis. Complaints against this apparently
bugged mechanism of the garages have been numerous, and the nature of the
problem appears to be consistently occurring and the same based on all those
complaints.

Some cases reported vehicles disappearing after doing one or a couple of
missions, although there have been reports from others that the problem
occurs after a long while. In any case, this can happen even when the garages
are not overstuffed, which is what was often seen as the culprit for the
disappearances of vehicles in the previous GTA games.

This concern however, is of course a big deal only for the serious garage
users or serious special vehicles collectors. A malfunctioning garage can
frustratingly dump someone's hardwork on his finds.

One solution that have somehow worked for me consistently and for quite
sometime now, has been to simply open the garage and check your cars BEFORE
you save the game after doing your tasks once you return to the safehouse.

From what has been tested so far, you have to do this every after single task
that you have to perform, which can range from doing any missions to any free
roam stuffs. It can be most tedious when doing Empire Building, given that
you have to check on all the garages, on at least 30 occasions, just for
Empire Building take over alone. Performing consecutive take over of Empire
Sites, even for as few as two succeeding take over, can still result in
vanishing cars in at least one of the garages. Getting busted or wasted also
have resulted in the cars getting deleted in at least one garage, but failing
and redoing missions several times hasn't produced any detrimental effects so
far.

The suggested solution may sound like a rather crude and tedious way of
solving the bug, but so far this has helped fixed the problem of vanishing
vehicles in the garage for me for a good long while now. Perhaps a rather
crude explanation for this is that, the malfunction in the garages appears to
be caused by a weak memory, so by toggling off the garages in the manner
described, it can help them "remember" the vehicle stored inside them every
time.

This method can just be too demanding of your time once you have opened all
the three garages on both Islands. You will have to visit each of them at
least once on every play through. But at the end of the day, all these
trouble is a small price to pay for keeping all your precious collection of
special vehicles for the rest of the game.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
6. DEFINITION OF TERMS
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

BP - Bulletproof: Complete protection from any form of gunfire. An armored
vehicle (though not necessarily a fighting vehicle like a tank) capable of
withstanding and stopping 100%, any type of bullet or a direct shot from any
bullet-based weapon; ranging from pistols to a minigun.

EP -Explosionproof: Any type of explosive devise or form of explosion cannot
destroy a vehicle that has this quality; be it hand grenades, RPGs, exploding
vehicles or even a cannon fire from a Rhino!

FP - Fireproof: You can say the least of all protections. It is fire
retardant and immune from destruction by blaze. However, this term as applied
here in this game can be a bit misleading given that a supposedly Fireproof
car (as in the case of Fireproof cars in the previous GTA games) is immune
from practically ALL forms of blaze. The Fireproof cars in Vice City Stories
however, are NOT MOLOTOV PROOF! It is immune from a Flamethrower, but will
still get destroyed using molotovs. The molotov in VCS appears to strangely
function as a grenade more than a fire based weapon. Not sure if this is just
one of the cases of misprogrammings in the game or it was really meant to be
the case.

EC - Exclusive Color: Some vehicles do not have any special property that
protect them from any form of destruction, but have a special paintjob that
is unobtainable from any Pay n Spray. The colors aren't anything unique by
themselves, but something you would find only in one vehicle from among the
rest in its class. In some cases the "exclusivity" of a color scheme is in
the way they are applied to a given vehicle. They may be the same colors you
can ordinarily get from the vehicle but the application can be "reversed".
There are some vehicles though that sport an exclusive color and are proofed
at the same time.

UNIQUE - A vehicle that has a totally different look from the rest. A one of
its kind in the game, something that doesn't only have an exclusive paintjob
but with features that belongs to that vehicle only. You wouldn't see any
other similar type driving around any of the cities nor spawned anywhere
else.

OBTAINABLE/UNOBTAINABLE - The terms refer to the final state of the special
property/properties of the vehicle or the vehicle itself, whether it/they can
be acquired and saved or not, when a mission is tactically failed
intentionally or successfully completed.

ABSOLUTE CAPACITY - Refers to the maximum number of vehicles you can actually
save in the garage without the risk of being "eaten" by it.

TECHNICAL CAPACITY - How many vehicles the garages would only open to allow
you to store any vehicle. This function is perhaps designed as a safety
mechanism, allotting one to two vehicles equivalent of vacant space in the
garages to prevent stored vehicles from possibly disappearing. This does not
necessarily mean though that you can't store any more than what's allotted to
you technically in the game. It'll all boil down to some clever layout of the
vehicles inside the garage in relation to their sizes.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
7. THE WALKTHROUGH
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In roughly storyline order, here are the special vehicles and the walkthrough
on how you can get them.

Difficulty rating is based on the whole process involved in obtaining the
special vehicles, inclusive of the stage or stages in the mission that you
have to go through, as well as after the mission is failed or passed.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
8. PROOFED VEHICLES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The bulletproof and fireproof vehicles are still in the game! VCS is another
GTA game, so expect these types of vehicles to be around in the game once
more. So far, the list of confirmed proofed vehicles in Vice City Stories
isn't that much impressive compared to a couple of more recent GTA games,
namely San Andreas and Liberty City Stories.

There are more Bulletproof only and Fireproof only vehicles in this game than
the more upgraded proofing like BP/EP/FP or the Comprehensiveproof types.

*****************************************************************************
8.01: FIREPROOF WALTON
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Cholo Victory
Character : Phil Cassidy
Location : Vice Port, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

In your first mission for Phil, you will accompany him find some business
rival Cholos that he likes to kill, as a way of getting even with them for
taking over much of the business in Vice City that has seriously affected his
income.

Basically, this is an introduction also to some of the usual places that you
have to familiarize yourself with when starting a new game. Phil's search for
the Cholos to drive by would take you to the local precinct, a hospital and
Pay N Spray along the way.

To start your assignment, you must use Phil's Walton truck, which, for some
reasons is Fireproof. You must never abandon him anytime as he's too drunk to
take care of himself and leaving him behind would result in failing the
mission. However, either you fail or pass the mission, the Walton's
Fireproofing will be permanent with it.

METHOD 1

As soon as you begin the mission, the Walton instantly becomes a Fireproof
truck. If you're not into completing the mission yet at this point for
whatever reason, just kill Phil by shooting him through the window. He'll
fall off the truck and you'll fail the mission as a result. Get in the Walton
and save it in your garage. It couldn't be that simple.

METHOD 2

A harder way to obtain this involves going through your assignment as
required to pass the mission.

Drive Phil first over to the precinct then to the hospital, after which you
and him will chase some Cholos in a car that Phil must kill. You can help him
out at this stage by performing the drive by yourself so that you can be done
with the task quickly.

The Cholos will return fire also once attacked, so be careful when
approaching them, as much as you have to be careful too of not raising your
wanted level by bumping into any cops vehicle along the way, as your target
weaves through traffic during the chase.

Once the Cholos are killed, drive to the Pay N Spray to repair the Walton as
per Phil's instruction. Take him to his place in Viceport to complete the
mission, and then just save the Walton in your garage.

*****************************************************************************
8.02: FIREPROOF PERENNIAL
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Truck Stop
Character : Phil Cassidy
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

On this occasion you will accompany Phil to intercept and steal a Barracks OL
full of liquor, that he will drive away and stash to his place. You are to
provide armed escort for him along with a couple of recruits as a back up for
the job, from the point where Phil takes control of the truck. Phil's
Perennial car is your crew's ride, a mission-required car, which means you
mustn't destroy it or you'll fail the mission. It also serves as your tracer
for the Barracks OL's location, so leaving it behind will make it difficult
for you to locate the whereabouts of the truck.

The car is Fireproof as soon as you start the mission; interestingly, it is
also Explosionproof but only for a limited time.

METHOD 1

Easiest way to obtain this is to fail the mission by destroying Phil's car.
You can't botch the job by killing him or the hired muscles who will come
along with you by shooting anyone of them through the window, or the car will
vanish. However, you can destroy Phil's car by ditching it into the water so
that the game script reads it as you've "destroyed' it. Blowing it up is
definitely out of the option.

So once you start the mission, don't bother following the instructions but
instead, head to a seaside location (as a white patch of land in the map)
right away West of the island near the Hyman Stadium. You can find a good
spot there where the shore gradually slopes down into the water. Drive the
car carefully into the water until it is about one third submerged, then exit
the vehicle and slowly push it some more until half of the car goes
underwater. Do not drive it up to that point of submersion, or you will get
wasted. Although you can swim in the game, riding in a vehicle while under
the water reduces your health quickly.

The mission will immediately fail at this point once it considers that you
have trashed the car. On the other hand, the Perennial will now keep its
Fireproofing property permanently. Just drive it out of the water and save it
in your garage.

METHOD 2

Completing the mission is another option you can go for. It involves a lot of
chasing, crashing and shooting, but fortunately, the Perennial car is
designed to withstand enough the punishing situation until you can finish all
the enemy backups to allow Phil to take control of the truck.

Do the mission as normally required, pick-up a couple of Phil's friends over
at the hotel, and then find where the truck is. Intercept the Barracks OL,
and just let your companions do the shooting. Apparently, they are programmed
to hit the targets on the truck but you're not. The truck isn't bulletproof,
so don't be foolish doing a drive by yourself because you run the risk of
destroying it.

At some point in the mission after the armed guards of the truck have been
killed, the truck will just stop somewhere. Next scenario is Phil riding in
the truck already on his way to his place in Vice Port. You must escort and
protect the truck until Phil reaches his place. Do not let him get far away
from you or you'll lose him and fail the mission.

The truck will be chased and shot at by retaliating enemy back ups along the
way, so you are compelled to take out these guys. But you must do so
carefully so as not to destroy the Fireproof Perennial you are driving.
Assuming you successfully escorted Phil to the destination, complete the
mission and the car will still be with you, its Fireproofing still in place.

*****************************************************************************
8.03: FIREPROOF BOBCAT
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Shakedown
Character : Marty J. Williams
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 1
Source : GTA_Loco

Marty's first job for you as your new boss is a tutorial on extortion and
protection racket. You and Marty will pay a visit to some stores to demand
some money. You are going to drive with him in his Bobcat, another mission
assigned vehicle, which becomes Fireproof the moment you begin the mission.
Obtaining this pick up truck requires that you fail the mission either by
killing Marty or ditching your ride into the water, since Marty will drive
this Bobcat with him at the end of a successful mission, so you won't be able
to see this again afterwards.

METHOD 1

Obtain the mission from Marty's trailer home at Little Havana. After the cut
scene, you and him are immediately placed inside the truck. However, instead
of driving to the destinations, get off the Bobcat, whip out your gun and
shoot Marty through the windshield. He'll fall off the vehicle along with
your attempt to complete the mission. This Fireproof Bobcat is almost a
freebie considering that it doesn't require that much effort to obtain it.
Just store it to your garage, then save the game.

*****************************************************************************
8.04: FIREPROOF/EXCLUSIVELY COLORED QUAD BIKES
*****************************************************************************

Mission : When Funday Comes
Character : Louise Cassidy Williams
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 2
Source : GTA_Loco

This is your first visit to Louise in her cousin's place after she has
already separated from Marty. She confides with you her depression about the
fact that her whole life had been a big mess. And so to comfort her from what
she's going through, an invitation from you to go out and have some fun will
lead to a Quad bike race in Marty's place upon Louise's recommendation.

Three of the Quad bikes Louise and two other guys will be riding are actually
Fireproof, the Black one and the Sky Blue Louise is driving have an exclusive
color as well. The Chrome Red assigned to you isn't Fireproof, but it has a
special paintjob that's also unobtainable from Pay N Spray.

Incidentally, this mission also opens all the Fireproof Cars and Motorbikes
races obtainable from Sunshine Autos in Little Havana and from the Carnival
just near your The Clymenus Suite safehouse on the West Island.

METHOD 1

It is required that you fail the mission to be able to get any one of the
cool Fireproof ATVs, since winning the race would only leave the Chrome Red
one in your possession. All of the three Fireproof ones would be gone.

The trick here is to steal your desired Fireproof Quad by killing the rider
before the racers can complete the two laps and return back to the
start/finish line. If you allow them to finish the laps, the Quads would lose
their Fireproofing. The special property is toggled off only while the race
for your opponents is still on and they haven't completed the whole course
yet, so you must find a way to kill one of the riders during that time and
quickly steal the Quad before the mission is formally failed. You must be
quick also to grab the bike once the rider fell off from it, or it would be
gone after the fade out. You can't kill a rider while you are racing as your
object of interest is moving fast so you won't have enough opportunity to
grab it. You must stop them somewhere in some way where there will be a
better chance and more convenient way of stealing the Quad.

Start the mission and drive with Louise to the race marker over at Marty's
place, you will then find yourself riding in one of the Quads. Wait for the
countdown, and as soon as the race begins, turn around and take that
Perennial car you can find parked beside a trailer nearby. Get off your bike
and get into the car quickly, and then block the racer's path that runs in
between a trailer and a house just beside the start line. The Perennial car
is long enough to cover most of the route's width to prevent the Quads from
passing through. Keep in mind though that you cannot get off your Quad for
more than 30 seconds while the race is ongoing or you will fail the mission.

Once your blockade is in place, get in your Quad again and just wait for the
racers to pass by. The racers will struggle to get past the blockade, and for
some reasons, if you stop them long enough before they can even finish one
lap, they won't proceed with the race anymore. Even if one or all of them
eventually manage to get past your blockade, they will just stop there in the
start/finish line. A blue arrow will still be appearing over their head just
like when the race is still on, as opposed to nothing anymore once they have
completed the laps.

Drive near a Quad you like, get off your ride and carefully aim for a good
shot at a rider. After you kill a rider and falls off his/her ride, quickly
hop on the Quad and just wait for the mission to fail. Once the scene returns
back to normal, you will find the Quad you stole still in your possession and
Fireproof. Just store it in your garage and save the game.

*****************************************************************************
8.05: FIREPROOF CUBAN HERMES
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Papi Don't Screech
Character : Umberto Robina
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 2
Source : GTA_Loco

After doing a few missions for Umberto, he now trusts you enough to take care
of some personal things for him. He needs your big balls to protect his
father from some Cholo threat, as they plan to give Umberto a little payback
for messing with their affairs. You must fetch Umberto's father Alberto from
the Hyman Stadium and be on time for the opening of his cafe in Little
Havana, and must be careful as well not to stress him along the way or you'll
fail the mission. To make matters delicate, some Cholos are waiting in ambush
at certain points to your destination.

You are required to drive Umberto's Cuban Hermes car for your task, thus you
mustn't destroy it or you'll also fail the mission given that it's another
mission-assigned car. Now as soon as you start the mission, the car is
converted into a Fireproof one. It is a rather lame upgrade for a rather
dangerous assignment. You can choose to either fail the mission first just to
conveniently get the car, or you can complete the mission right away.

METHOD 1

If you decide to fail the mission, there are at least two ways to do it. One
way is to simply stress Alberto to death. As soon as you pick him up, get off
the car, walk away from it and just leave him there. You don't need to go
very far though and soon enough Alberto's stress meter will fill quickly.
He'll have a heart attack and you'll fail the mission, but the Cuban Hermes
won't disappear as long as you don't go very far from it which isn't
warranted as mentioned already.

Another way is to immediately head to a seaside location near the Hyman
Stadium, dump the car into the water until the script reads it as you have
destroyed it. In either ways, you will fail the mission without losing the
car and its Fireproofing.

METHOD 2

A more stressful option is to pass the mission.

Do the mission as it is normally required, use Umberto's car and fetch his
father Alberto from the Hyman Stadium. Drive at moderate speed, avoid bumping
into anything or raising your wanted level. These can cause a heart attack to
Alberto that can kill him and your mission. And since you also have to avoid
getting ambushed by some Cholos out to retaliate against Umberto's family,
you must choose a route that would take you quickly to Alberto's cafe safely
and on time for its opening.

Check out the off-road routes West most of the island that run near the
waters. There are alley ways you can pass through that would take you to the
junkyard and around Little Havana far away from where the Cholos are randomly
appearing. You will end up just a short distance drive away from your
destination. Don't be complacent though, always check your radar for the
random appearance of red blips representing the Cholos, and look for routes
that avoid them. Once you manage to make it to the cafe without any hassle to
pass the mission, you will still be behind the wheels of Umberto's Fireproof
Cuban Hermes, yours to keep for good.

8.06: BULLETPROOF/FIREPROOF PONY
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Money for Nothing
Character : Bryan Forbes
Location : Downtown, West Island
Difficulty : 2
Source : GTA_Loco

If you've played GTA3 before, this is quite similar to the mission "Decoy".

You, Forbes and Lance are to plan out a way to steal a Pony van full of drugs
from a warehouse in Little Haiti. You have to pull off this heist right under
the noses of the DEA and cops using a decoy van that you have to drive to
lure the cops far away from the real one that has the stuffs.

This Bulletproof/Fireproof Pony isn't the decoy van, but it's the other Pony
in the warehouse that has the drugs Lance and Bryan have to steal. You will
not see this until you drive into the warehouse marker. You need to fail the
mission by killing Lance, since passing it requires that you drive far away
from the Bulletproof/Fireproof Pony where you won't see it anymore
afterwards.

METHOD 1

Drive Forbes and Lance to the location of the decoy Pony van in a parking lot
near Forbes' place. Get in the decoy van with the guys, head down to the
warehouse in Little Haiti and drive into the red marker. Be careful not to
destroy the decoy van en route as it is a mission-assigned vehicle or you
lose the opportunity to get the BP/FP Pony.

After the cut scene where it shows the decoy van gets repainted, you will
find Lance and Forbes riding the BP/FP Pony parked just beside the decoy van.
Don't bother stealing it from Lance as its doors are locked, that's why Lance
has to be shot through the windshield for you to be able to open its door and
drive it away.

You must push the BP/FP Pony first out of the warehouse before you have to
kill Lance to fail the mission. The reason for this is that once you fail the
mission, the warehouse doors will close while the vehicles are still inside.
You will be thrown outside with no means to get the BP/FP Pony again. But if
you fail the mission when the BP/FP Pony is on the warehouse lot already, it
will remain there where you left it.

Don't worry about the cops too at this point if you must push the BP/FP Pony
out. Your wanted level will be raised only once you get on the road riding
any vehicle including the decoy Pony, therefore, there's no help in trying to
jack a bigger vehicle if you're thinking of having a more convenient means to
push the BP/FP Pony.

Use the decoy van instead to push the BP/FP Pony until it is safely outside.
However, be careful not to destroy either of the vans when doing so
considering that they're not damageproof. If you accidentally destroy your
van when the BP/FP Pony is outside already, you won't lose the latter but the
doors will be locked. You might have a difficult time pushing this all the
way to your garage then.

Now once the BP/FP Pony is outside already, get off your vehicle, take out
your sniper rifle or machine gun, get a good aim at Lance and pull the
trigger. Lance will fall off the van, mission will fail, but the BP/FP Pony
will still be there, its properties stay with the vehicle. Its door will
remain open, and all you have to do at this point is get in it and drive it
to your garage to save it.

8.07: FIREPROOF PONY
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Money for Nothing
Character : Bryan Forbes
Location : Downtown, West Island
Difficulty : 1
Source : GTA_Loco

In the same mission where you can get a BP/FP Pony, the decoy van you're
supposed to use as a bait to lure the cops away from Lance and Forbes is
Fireproof before it gets repainted in the warehouse. It's almost pointless to
obtain this one considering that you get a better version of it with the
BP/FP one. Getting this definitely means failing the mission before you get
to the warehouse. It will lose its Fireproofing after it gets repainted.

METHOD 1

Do the mission normally up to the point where you must head down to the
parking lot to pick up this van. As soon as you're beside it, take out your
gun and shoot any of the two guys to fail the mission. Just drive this van to
your garage and save it.

*****************************************************************************
8.08: FIREPROOF STINGER
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Caught As an Act
Character : Bryan Forbes
Location : Hyman Stadium, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

Lance has suspected that Forbes is actually an undercover cop. He sets a meet
with you and Forbes at the Hyman Stadium, where Lance tries to force Forbes
to confess who he really is and what he really wants from them. At a certain
point, Forbes will try to escape by grabbing Lance's Stinger car, which turns
out to be Fireproof.

Now you're supposed to chase him at that point, but no matter what you'll do,
whether you shoot at the car or bump it hard, Forbes will not just get out of
it. Yanking him out will lead to a successful completion of the mission
without the Stinger in the end. That's why you must fail the mission yet
again if you're interested in obtaining this car, and the easiest option is
by quickly leaving Lance behind.

METHOD 1

Meet with Forbes and Lance at the parking lot of Hyman Stadium. After the cut
scene, Forbes will try to escape by driving away in Lance's Stinger. Nearby
around you are three vehicles you can choose from that you can use to chase
Forbes: a Cheetah, a Pony and a Biker Angel. The Biker Angel is the nearest
from your location, so as quickly as you can, sprint towards the motorbike
and speed away before Lance can hop in. Almost immediately after you leave
Lance behind, the mission will fail and Forbes will just disappear from the
Stinger leaving the car abandoned on the road. It is not locked so you can
just get in it and drive it away to your garage.

*****************************************************************************
8.09: FIREPROOF SENTINEL XS
*****************************************************************************

Mission : From Zero to Hero
Character : Lance Vance
Location : Downtown, West Island
Difficulty : 1
Source : GTA_Loco

Your last mission for Lance on the Main Island has you helping him out
intercept a large shipment of Martinez's drugs over at the docks. You have to
seize two Barracks OL trucks full of stuffs, and then drive over to Lance's
safehouse on the other island.

At the start of the mission, you and the others will be immediately onboard a
Sentinel XS that is Fireproof. You're supposed to drive your crew in this car
to the destination, but if you're interested in obtaining this, you
definitely have to fail the mission. This will be nowhere in sight as soon as
the gunfight at the docks is over, when you and Lance are to drive the trucks
to the safehouse.

METHOD 1

You have to kill Lance to fail the mission. But you can't kill him by
shooting him through the windshield, since you won't be able to even though
the car isn't Bulletproof. You will just destroy the car and fail the
mission. You have to dump the Sentinel XS into the water on a seaside spot
near the Hyman Stadium just behind the Lance's hotel. This is the easiest and
quickest way to fail the mission so you can have the car in no time.

So once you get control of the car, proceed right away to the seaside
location, slowly drive the car into the water being careful not to go too
deep. You might find it difficult to retrieve the car if you're not careful.
Just submerge the car until you get the message that you have killed Lance,
apparently from drowning, and your mission will fail. Funny though how you
will see Lance and the two other guys casually get off the car and walk
aimlessly, when Lance is supposed to have died. But who cares about that when
what's important is, you're now in possession of a cool Fireproof Sentinel
XS.

8.10: BULLETPROOF/FIREPROOF STRETCH
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Kill Phil
Character : Reni Wassulmaier
Location : Film Studio, Prawn Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source :

Reni's director Barry is in big trouble with some people he owes some money
to, and they're threatening to kill his good friend Phil who is arriving in
Vice City for a concert. Phil happens to be the 80's, pop music super
celebrity Phil Collins, who made a surprising appearance in the game.

Barry needs your services to protect his good friend from getting harmed, so
you must escort Phil safely to his hotel. And as an added security, you have
to drive Phil in a Bulletproof/Fireproof Stretch that you have to pick up
from a hotel.

METHOD 1

Accompany Barry to a hotel parking lot, pick up the Bulletproof/Fireproof
Stretch for Phil, and then drive over to the location where Phil will be
arriving. After the cut scene, you will find yourself in the middle of an
attack by a group of about six assailants. Take them out quickly and then get
in the Stretch. On the way to the hotel, more attackers will come at you but
since you're riding in a Bulletproof car, you shouldn't worry much about
this.

However, along the way you still have to be careful with crashes and random
explosions around considering that the car you're driving isn't Damageproof
or Explosionproof. The attackers are aggressive, who will bump hard into your
car repeatedly as they open fire. Any collateral victim around the place
might also trigger an unexpected explosion your car might figure into. That
can spell doom for your mission and the Bulletproof/Fireproof Stretch.
Besides, you also wouldn't want your music idol to die in such a disgraceful
manner would you?

After you reach the hotel, complete the mission and you will be rewarded with
this elegant-looking Bulletproof/Fireproof car waiting to be saved in your
garage.

This is something cool in the game. Finally, a Bulletproof car is always
purchaseable in a showroom any time you need it and as long as you have the
cash. If you've missed getting Phil's Bulletproof/Fireproof Stretch in a
mission, or if it unfortunately got eaten by your garage, you can have
another chance to get another one. There will always be a Bulletproof Stretch
available for purchase at Sunshine Autos in Little Havana after you complete
the mission Kill Phil, although this one isn't Fireproof. But if that
wouldn't matter much to you, then just buy one from the showroom anytime you
need it.

*****************************************************************************
8.12: BULLETPROOF EMPIRE SITES CARS
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Empire Building
Availability: After taking over all of 30 Empire Sites in Vice City
Location : Vice City
Difficulty : 5
Source : Archaon, Lord of End Times

For the first time in a GTA game, Bulletproof cars are regularly spawned even
on free roam in designated locations! Thanks to Archaon, Lord of End Times
for contributing this information.

Now this is another new feature in a GTA game. In the past GTA games, proofed
vehicles, more particularly the bulletproof ones, can only be found and
obtained inside storyline missions and side missions. Liberty City Stories
offered a rather novel feature where you will be rewarded with a couple of
BP/FP vehicle at the end of a couple of side missions. The only catch in
those LCS bonus vehicles was, they were one-time spawn only. Failure to save
them in your garage once they appear can lead to their loss for good.

Vice City Stories however can provide you with an unlimited supply of
Bulletproof cars even when you're not on a mission, although you still need
to perform a task that is essentially a mission. However, your Bulletproof
car reward will always be outside of your property anytime you need it. No
purchases or any more missions necessary.

METHOD 1

The bottom line in obtaining the Bulletproof cars is to take over ALL OF THE
30 EMPIRE SITES around Vice City. Once you have accomplished this, a message
will appear on your screen telling you that all the cars outside of your
business establishment have been upgraded, meaning, they are now Bulletproof.
There are six different types of Bulletproof cars you can have in your Empire
Sites, depending on what particular type of business is existing:

1. BP Idaho - Protection Racket
2. BP Admiral - Loan Shark
3. BP Polaris V8 - Prostitution
4. BP Stallion - Drug
5. BP Sabre Turbo - Smuggling
6. BP Landstalker - Robbery

If you change a particular business to another type of business, the BP car
will change also.

Empire Building can just be somewhat time-consuming and rather difficult as
the task isn't a simple walk in the park of just grabbing an Empire Site from
a gang. You also have to constantly protect your acquisition from regular
attacks by business rivals, both from whom you grabbed an empire site and
from another gang that would take an interest in your property. Failure to
protect your Empire Site when attacked can lead to its acquisition by another
gang. So this can significantly set back your quest for the Bulletproof cars.
How to go about taking over the Empire Sites and protecting them will not be
outlined here anymore, since those are pretty much covered already in other
walkthroughs.

Apart from the time required taking over and protecting an Empire site,
another consideration that can be time-consuming as well in your quest for
the Empire Site bulletproof cars are the glitched garages. It's quite a known
fact already that garages in VCS eat stored vehicles on a regular basis if
not managed carefully. You can solve the garage problem somehow, by checking
on your vehicles at least twice during a play through; before you do any task
(missions, free roam exploration, etc.) and before you save the game.

In relation to Empire Building, it appears that you can take over and develop
only one Empire Site at a time, or for some reasons your stored vehicles in
at least one garage will vanish if you do more take over consecutively. That
means, if you plan on seizing a large number of sites in one go, you might
have to check on your garages first every time before you proceed. However,
this is an important requirement only if you have other acquired special
vehicles from earlier missions that you like to keep for good in your
garages.

8.13: BULLETPROOF BF INJECTION
*****************************************************************************

Availability: After completing 15 levels of Beach Patrol side mission
              in Ocean Beach
Location : Sunshine Autos
Cost : ,000
Difficulty : 3
Source : Archaon Lord of End Times

Rockstar has introduced in Liberty city Stories a feature in the game where
you are rewarded with Bulletproof/Fireproof vehicles once you have
successfully completed some side missions. That's back again in Vice City
Stories with a different twist; you can unlimitedly purchase a Bulletproof BF
Injection at Sunshine Autos once you have completed all 15 levels of Beach
Patrol side mission. The only small catch here is you have to shell out
,000 every time you need one.

There are three random sets of missions you can expect to do in Beach Patrol,
and just for reference they are: 1) Drive a paramedic to patients on the
beach 2) Save drowning swimmers in the sea by throwing lifesavers and
2)take out Sanchez-riding gangsters who are creating havoc in the beach.

One and three are basically similar to the regular Paramedic and vigilante
missions, except that they are located only in the beach. You might want to
cycle through these sets of missions to be able to get the Paramedic one,
since that seems to be the easiest to accomplish among the three.

*****************************************************************************
8.14: FIREPROOF RACING CARS
*****************************************************************************

The Fireproof cars and motorbikes are in the game again! Ever since Vice
City, all the racing vehicles in street races have been Fireproof. Most of
them are nice to have, but unfortunately, you don't have enough garages or
garage space to store all of them.

.............................................................................
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Never use any of your proofed vehicles, including the
Rhino, when doing the street races. The races will disable their special
properties PERMANENTLY, as soon as you get in the proofed vehicle. However,
this can happen only if you board any proofed vehicle once you started the
race by any means, and while the race is on. But once the race is over,
whether you cancelled it, failed it or completed it, everything will return
back to normal.
.............................................................................

METHOD1

Step into the race menu marker where it is located. One is in Sunshine Autos
in Little Havana where you can enter race nos. 1 to 5, and the other is in a
carnival stall in Vice Point just behind your Clymenus Suite safehouse where
you can enter race nos. 6 to 9.

Choose which race is the Fireproof car to your liking. Head down to the start
line in any vehicle, but do not drive into the red marker, or do anything
else that would trigger the race. If you accidentally triggered the race,
either by bumping into your racing opponents or hitting any of them, it will
be difficult to prevent them from completing the race laps. Allowing them to
do so will turn them again into normal cars sans Fireproofing. The special
property is toggled off only before and during the race while your opponents
haven't completed the laps yet.

Much like how you can get the Fireproof Quads in Louise's mission When Funday
Comes, you have to fail the race by killing the driver of the car then
seizing his ride before the scene fades out. Prior to the race, the car doors
are locked, so there's no chance at all in stealing it. The cars will be
unlocked only after they have returned again to the start/finish line, but
that is precisely what you don't want to happen because by that time, the
cars will no longer be Fireproof. And if you fail the mission without getting
in the car, it will disappear after the fade out.

So once you arrive at the start line, whip out your sniper rifle or any
machine gun, and then stand very close beside the car you like. Make a
careful aim at the head of the driver then pull the trigger. If you do it
right, the driver will fall off the car and the door will open. You have a
very brief window of time to get in the car before the mission fails. If you
manage to get in just in time, once the scenario returns back to normal, you
will still find the car in your control, and its Fireproofing still in place.

Listed are the three types of nice racing cars you can get from the street
races, and which races you can find them:

A. Mission : Turismo Races

1. Location : Sunshine Autos
                Little Havana, Main Island

a. Car Type : Infernus
   Race no.2 : Downtown Showdown
Start Line : Downtown West, Main Island

b. Car Type : Stinger

Notes : Sky Blue and Black Stingers have exclusive paintjobs

2. Location : Fairground

Notes : Black Cheetah has an exclusive paintjob

b. Car Type : Infernus
   Race no.9 :
Start Line : Ocean Beach, West Island
Notes : Black Infernus has an exclusive paintjob

8.15: FIREPROOF PCJ 600
*****************************************************************************

Apart from the racing cars, you can also get a Fireproof PCJ 600 from all of
the motorbike category in the street races. In fact, all the motorbike races
use only a PCJ 600.

.............................................................................

6 to 9.

Choose any motorbike race anywhere it is available. Head down to the start
line in any vehicle, but do not drive into the red marker, or do anything
else that would trigger the race. Don't bother attempting to steal the
motorbike as Vic won't respond to your command to hop in the bike. Instead,
whip out your sniper rifle or any machine gun, and then stand very close
beside the PCJ 600 you like. Make a careful aim at the head of the driver
then pull the trigger. If you do it right, the driver will fall off the
motorbike, then quickly hop in it and just wait for mission failure. Once the
scenario returns back to normal, you will still find yourself riding in the
PCJ 600, Fireproof still and just waiting for you to keep it in your garage..

Listed are the street races where you can find and obtain a Fireproof PCJ
600. Note that the Black PCJ also has an exclusive paintjob. Black color
isn't obtainable from Pay N Spray for the PCJ 600.

8.16: FIREPROOF WASHINGTON
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Courier Briefcase
             Robbery Mission nos.1 & 6
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

It's not only Bulletproof cars that your Empire Sites provide, but you can
also find some additional Fireproof vehicles in missions for your ROBBERY
business. If you're doing the missions for the first time, your target in the
first and sixth missions will be driving a Fireproof Washington car. This is
perhaps to prevent you from torching the driver out so that you can
conveniently steal the briefcase from him.

Your task in this first robbery assignment is to grab a briefcase from a
courier riding a Washington car before he reaches his destination. You're
supposed to damage his car along the way to force him out of the car and
leave the briefcase, but whatever you do, you mustn't destroy the car or
you'll fail the mission. You need to scare him away or kill him if it's
possible, so that you can steal the briefcase and bring it to your business
site.

METHOD 1

Start the mission as normal, trace the car in the map and head over to its
location. Most of the time the car will start moving as soon as you get on
the road, but there are also rare occasions when it won't move right away not
until you get too close to it. If it didn't drive away immediately, position
yourself in front it, approach it carefully, and get close enough to get a
good headshot at the driver using a sniper rifle. Aim carefully, and then
shoot. The driver as well as the briefcase will fall off the car, so all you
have to do at this point is sprint towards your fallen target and grab the
briefcase. Get in the car quickly and use it to drive back to your empire
site to complete the mission. The car will still be with you afterwards.

Along the way you will be chased and shot at by your target's back up
security, plus at least a couple of wanted stars from the cops, so try to
lose the heat as much as you can while not letting your Fireproof Washington
gets damaged.

METHOD 2

If you're not into completing the mission yet or have completed it already
and you're just after the car, one hassle-free way to get it is to just fail
the mission.

Start the mission, trace the location of the car, and just carefully follow
it. Do not get too close however when following it or you'll raise some
wanted levels. Somehow, as you go to higher levels of the mission, your
wanted level is increased also. So to avoid any trouble with the cops or the
car's armed back up, maintain a far distance from it but never lose sight of
the car. Let it reach its destination and you will fail the mission. The car
will just stop on the spot, a couple of its armed escorts will get off, but
the driver will stay in the car. You can now safely approach the car without
getting any heat from both the cops and the armed escorts.

Do not attempt to open the door however, since it is locked and by doing so
will only prompt the driver to get off and close the door. Whip out your
sniper rifle instead, aim carefully at the driver's head and fire. He will
fall off the car leaving the door hanging open, just get in the car and save
it to your garage.

*****************************************************************************
8.17: FIREPROOF GREENWOOD
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Courier Briefcase
             Robbery Mission no.1
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

In the same robbery mission where you have to grab a briefcase from a courier
in a Washington car, the armed back ups of your target ride in a couple of
Greenwood cars that are Fireproof as well. Getting any of these FP Greenwoods
requires that you fail the mission for a trouble free way.

METHOD 1

Start the mission, trace the location of the courier in a Washington car. If
your target drives away immediately and its escort Greenwood shows right away
following the courier behind, then you're good to go. There are times when
it's only the Washington car that is visible, so if this happens, chances are
you have to provoke the situation for the Greenwood cars to appear.

If the Greenwood appears immediately, tail on the convoy but do not get too
close or you'll provoke the armed men in the Greenwood cars to open fire at
you and you'll raise your wanted level as well with the cops. This can make
matters complicated for you, so try avoiding this from happening. Assuming
everything's quiet, just continue tailing the cars behind until they reach
their destination. Once you fail the mission, some of the armed men aboard
the Greenwood car will alight, but the driver will remain in the car. It's
now safe to approach it and steal the car. Do not attempt to open the door as
it is locked, if you do that, the driver will get off and lock the car's
door. This will require then that you have to push the car all the way to
your garage, which isn't convenient. Instead, whip out your sniper rifle,
make a careful aim at the head of the driver then shoot him. He'll fall off
the car leaving the door hanging open, just get in the car and drive it away
to your garage.

METHOD 2

If you have provoked the situation where the armed escorts in Greenwood cars
open fire at you and raised your wanted level with the cops, lose the heat
from the cops first using the Pay N Spray, then attend next to the Greenwood
cars. Look for a good place to trap any of them, like in a fenced location,
since they will be chasing and attacking you throughout the mission, while
the courier hasn't reached his destination yet. If you managed to get them
stuck somewhere, like against a wall or any structure, quickly get off your
car, take out your sniper rifle or any machine gun, take a very careful aim
at the driver's head, and then shoot his head off through the car's
windshield. He'll fall off the car leaving the door open, hop in it and drive
away. His armed occupants will also attack you once you have killed their
driver, so just take them out if you have to before you steal the car. Just
wait for the mission to fail and save your FP Greenwood.

8.18: FIREPROOF SECURICAR
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Money Truck
             Robbery Mission nos.2 & 4
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1
Source : GTA_Loco

Your target in the second and fourth robbery mission is a Fireproof Securicar
that carries the money you have to steal. You have to steal the truck also in
this case and not just what it is carrying. If you pass the mission
successfully, you will lose the truck. So that means you have to fail your
task to be able to get the Securicar.

METHOD 1

Obtain the mission from your empire site, locate the whereabouts of the van.
If it starts moving right away, follow it carefully while maintaining a far
distance from it in order not to raise your wanted level and provoke its
armed guards as well. Do not lose visual contact of it however or it might
vanish once you fail the mission. So just keep on trailing it until it
reaches its destination after which you'll fail the mission. The van will
just stop there on the spot, with the driver still onboard. It's now safe to
approach it without getting the heat.

Use a sniper rifle and take a good aim at the driver's face and shoot. He'll
fall off the vehicle leaving the door hanging open, just waiting for you to
hop in the van. It's best to use this type of gun as you can make sure that
you can hit your target accurately. Using other types of gun sometimes won't
kill the driver immediately, which will prompt him to get off the van and
lock the door.

8.19: FIREPROOF MOONBEAM
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Money Truck
             Robbery Mission no.2
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

This is an another Fireproof vehicle that is used by your target's armed
escort, in the same mission where you have to steal a Securicar, only that
these FP Moonbeams appear on a different level. The method to obtain this is
essentially similar to the other Fireproof back up vehicles escorting your
target.

METHOD 1

As soon as you get a visual on the Securicar van, you will see that it is
being tailed by a couple of Moonbeam vans. Follow the convoy carefully, but
don't get too close or you will alert them and the cops. Just maintain a good
distance from them until they reach their destination. You will fail the
mission, and one of the Moonbeams will stop near the Securicar van. Its other
armed occupants will get off the vehicle, but leaving the driver behind. Now
all you have to do is approach it carefully and shoot the driver off the
vehicle. Once he's out of the van, get in and drive it away to your garage.

8.20: FIREPROOF OCEANIC
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Money Truck
             Robbery Mission nos.4
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

On the fourth robbery mission, you will find this Fireproof vintage car as
your target's escort. This will also appear again randomly after you have
completed all 6 robbery missions required for your robbery business. Failing
the mission again is the best way to obtain this trouble free.

METHOD 1

Follow the convoy carefully, but don't get too close or you will alert them
and the cops. Maintain a good distance from them until they reach their
destination. You will fail the mission, and the Oceanic will also stop near
the Securicar van. The car's armed occupants will get off, but the driver
will remain behind the wheels, as if just waiting for you to kill him and
steal the car. Now approach the car, take out your gun, preferanbly a sniper
rifle, and shoot the driver off the vehicle. Once he's dead and out of the
car, get in the Oceanic and drive it away to your garage.

*****************************************************************************
8.21: FIREPROOF LANDSTALKER
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Courier Briefcase
             Robbery Mission nos.6
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

This is the vehicle used by your targets escort in this last robbery mission.
Failing the mission as well in this case is the best way to obtain this
hassle free. Just like with the other Fireproof escort vehicles, you might
not be able to get this easily at the end of a successful mission.

METHOD 1

Follow carefully the Washington car and its two Landstalker escorts,
maintaining a good distance from the convoy in order not to alert them and
raise your wanted level with the cops. Just let the group reach their
destination and let your mission fail. The Landstalker will stop somewhere
near the Washington car, its occupants will get off except for the driver who
will remain inside the car. Approach the vehicle, take out your sniper rifle
and waste the driver with a good headshot, he'll fall off the car leaving the
door open. Get in the Landstalker and just save it in your garage.

*****************************************************************************
8.22: FIREPROOF SENTINEL
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Courier Briefcase
             After Robbery Mission no.6
Location : Robbery Empire Sites
Difficulty : 3
Source : GTA_Loco

This car will appear as the escort of the Washington car, but this can be
seen only after you have completed already the 6 missions required to max out
your reputation for the business. Failing the mission as usual is the best
way to obtain the car. You don't need to complete the mission anyway, so if
you just want to have a Fireproof Sentinel for whatever reasons, just fail
the mission and obtain the car.

METHOD 1

Start the mission and go to the location of your target. Normally you will
find the FP Sentinel car following on the Washington car behind it. Be
careful not to approach it too close or it's not only its armed occupants
that you will have to worry about, but as well as your wanted level that will
be raised immediately to four stars. Just try to maintain a good distance
from them until they make it to their destination. Your mission will fail,
the FP Sentinel will stop somewhere near the Washington car just waiting for
you to steal it. Approach the car and shoot the driver off the car through
the windshield using a sniper rifle, and then get in the car once the door
opens. Store it in your garage then save.

METHOD 2

Sometimes both the Washington and Sentinel cars won't move at all from where
they will spawn upon starting the mission. This can still be a good
opportunity to steal the Fireproof Sentinel only that you will have to expect
some troubles from the cops.

So if the convoy doesn't move, approach both cars carefully until you can
have a good view of the Sentinel's driver when you peek through the sniper
scope. Aim carefully, and then pull the trigger. If you do it just right, the
driver will fall off the car once you hit him in the head. But to make
matters complicated for you, at this point you will instantly get four wanted
stars from the cops while the armed occupants of the Sentinel car will also
attack you. It's the cops that you have to worry about for the most part, so
you have to be quick in losing the heat first and then just getting back for
the Sentinel once everything is calm.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
9. EXCLUSIVELY COLORED VEHICLES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There are vehicles that have a paintjob specially assigned to them in given
missions only, which is something you cannot get by also using the Pay N
Spray. Said paintjob isn't also something you can find from other similar
vehicles driving around the places when in free roam, so in effect it's a
one-time appearance and mission-based only.

*****************************************************************************
9.01: BLACK STALLIONS
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Marked Men
Character : Phil Cassidy
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

In this mission, you and Phil are supposed to run an errand for Martinez to
check on some merchandise in a warehouse in Little Haiti. Little did the two
of you know that the errand is actually an ambush set-up by Martinez as a
reprisal for you and Phil's distrust on him.

When you drive into the warehouse marker, you will be attacked by a group of
men, some on foot but all the others are riding in Black Stallions. This
color is exclusive for the car, since you can't obtain a Black color for a
Stallion from Pay N Spray.

METHOD 1

It might be best to just fail the mission if you'll be after this car. You
are required to drive Phil back to his place along the way where Phil will
destroy this Black Stallions with molotovs. You can't leave Phil behind, and
by the time you've reach Phil's place, all the Stallions would have been
destroyed.

Do the mission up to the point where you drive into the warehouse marker.
Waste the attackers on foot, then turn your attention to the two Stallions
blocking the alleyway with more attacking goons. Kill the goons if you have
to, but instead of getting out of the alley, destroy Phil's truck by any
means. You will immediately fail the mission, but the Stallions will still be
there. Drive any one of them to your garage then save.

*****************************************************************************
9.02: CHROME RED QUAD
*****************************************************************************

Mission : When Funday Comes
Character : Louise Cassidy Williams
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Difficulty : 1 or 3
Source : GTA_Loco

This is your ride in a Quad race Louise will invite you to, when you're
supposed to console her about her depressions. It's the only one among the
four Quad bikes that isn't Fireproof, but it has nice bright red color that's
exclusive to it. All Quad bikes have a regular two-color scheme, and this one
is painted red all over its body.

METHOD 1

Do the race as normal, win it and just keep the bike with you. It will remain
in you possession after you pass the mission, just keep it in your garage and
then save.

*****************************************************************************
9.03: RED VENTOSO & GREEN VENTOSO
*****************************************************************************

Mission : The Bum Deal
Character : Bryan Forbes
Location : Little Haiti, Main Island
Difficulty : 3
Source : GTA_Loco

Forbes will play another trick on you and Lance by leading you to a place
where you're supposed to find a contact for a big shipment you have a great
interest on. The place will turn out to be a bar for racist white bikers,
where the patrons do not like colored people like you and Lance.

As you arrive at the place, you will notice outside the bar that there is a
Ventoso motorbike parked to the left side of the bar's entrance, beside one
of the biker's standard black Freeways. This Ventoso appears in random colors
of Green or Red, both of which are special colors for the motorbike. You can
obtain only two other colors for the Ventoso at Pay N Spray, which are Dark
Brown and Dark blue. Red and Green aren't obtainable there. Sometimes the one
with a normal color will appear outside of the bar, and if this happens,
Forbes will most probably drive the one with a special color at the later
part of the mission.

METHOD 1

Head over to the Stallionz bar once you start the mission. Step on the pink
marker so that the blue entrance marker to the bar will appear, and then kill
first all of the bikers you can find outside of the bar to minimize your
trouble with them later on. Check if the Ventoso you can find parked to the
left of the bar's entrance has a Red or Green color. If one of those colors
appear on the motorbike, then everything's just fine. The only trouble in
this case is that, you have to use this later on when you reach the chase
part. It might disappear if you'll leave it somewhere should you decide to
chase Forbes using a better vehicle.

But before that, you have to go inside the bar first, waste all the bikers
there to be able to get out again. Now go outside and ride in the Ventoso
with a special color, and then head back again to the safehouse where you're
keeping Forbes. The chase part will begin here, and it can be quite a pain in
the ass using the Ventoso to chase Forbes. But it shouldn't be that difficult
with you, given a little practice riding that crappy motorbike.

Shoot and kill Forbes as you close in on him, once he's dead, drive Lance
back to his hotel to complete the mission. You will still find yourself
riding on the Exclusively Colored Ventoso once everything returns back to
normal.

If you didn't find an Exclusively colored Ventoso at the bar, Forbes will
most probably be driving it at the chase part. You will be better off in this
case, since you get a good chance of using a better vehicle to hunt down
Forbes and steal the Ventoso.

*****************************************************************************
9.04: CHROME RED AND YELLOW COMET
*****************************************************************************

Mission : So Long Schlong
Character : Reni Wassulmaier
Location : Vice Point, West Island
Difficulty : 3
Source : GTA_Loco

Reni has upset Mendez for putting you in contact with Ricardo Diaz, so Mendez
has sent out some of his men to eliminate Reni. The car Reni will use as a
get away on the first part of the mission is a nice-looking Chrome Red Comet
with a yellow rear window. The only red color you can obtain from Pay N Spray
for the Comet is darker, and Reni's car has a bright red color. Most Comets
have a white rear window as well, unlike Reni's that sports a yellow color.

It might be a good idea to just fail the mission first by killing Reni when
you're supposed to rescue him from a pin down inside a compound, since
proceeding with the mission and driving in his exclusively colored Comet
might only spell doom for the car, given that it already took a lot of hits
from the gunfight. You will be attacked by more armed men on the way to the
hospital where you have to bring Reni, that's why you run the risk of losing
the car if you try to complete the mission driving in Reni's Comet.

METHOD 1

Begin the mission as normal, kill all of Mendez's men who will storm the
studio in search of Reni. As you gun down the last few of them, you'll get a
call from Reni and his life meter will appear. Rush to the location where
Reni is before he gets killed. You will find him outnumbered by Mendez's men,
and he's taking cover behind his Comet. Approach Reni and shoot him quickly
until you kill him. You will fail the mission and Mendez's men will stop
shooting. The Comet will still be there, now all you have to do is drive the
car to your garage and save it.

*****************************************************************************
9.05: BLACK AND WHITE BOXVILLE
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Domo Arigato Domestobato
Character : Ricardo Diaz
Location : Mendez Mansion, Prawn Island
Difficulty : 2
Source : GTA_Loco

You have to save Lance's ass again, this time from Ricardo Diaz whom he owes
some debt. The deal Lance and Diaz have struck is for Lance to find a way to
destroy Mendez's bearer bonds, that is being kept inside his mansion in Prawn
Island. The Mendez brothers are Ricardo Diaz's business rivals.

But since Lance is too wasted to do the task, obviously you are going to have
to. You are going to hack into the control of Mendez's robot household help,
the Domestoboto. And you will do the hacking on the robot inside a Boxville
van that will be parked outside of Mendez's mansion.

This Boxville has a special paintjob of Black and White, something that you
won't get for it from Pay N Spray. It's kind of difficult to obtain this,
more so because you have to pass the mission by successfully cracking on
Mendez's vault where the bonds are kept, so that you can drive this away to
your garage afterwards. Cracking the security code can really take some
effort, given that you also have limited attempts to do so.

You won't be able to push this to your garage before you pass the mission, by
doing so it will only catch fire and explode. You can't fail the mission any
other way without losing it. Failing the mission by not being able to destroy
Mendez's bonds or not following his orders on time will always spawn you back
at Diaz's mansion in Starfish Island without the Boxville of course.

METHOD 1

Begin the mission and head over to the Boxville parked in front of Mendez's
mansion in Prawn Island. Get in the van, you will then be transported to the
view of Domestoboto after hacking on the robot's controls. Go to where the
vault is, which is down at the basement, and while not being ordered by
Mendez to do certain tasks, crack the security code of the vault. Mendez will
occasionally interrupt you by ordering you to do certain household chores.
These chores are timed, so don't delay or you will fail the mission, without
the Boxville also.

The first time you do it, you may find the task of cracking the code
difficult, given that you have limited attempts to do it before you fail the
mission. But once you know the code already, it's just a walk in the park
already. The only working code appears to be 8423.

When you have successfully opened the vault, switch Domestoboto's arm to the
one with a lighter and burn the documents to complete the mission. After you
have succeeded in your assignment, you will find yourself back again behind
the wheels of the Boxville. The van is yours to keep now, just store it in
your garage and save.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
10. UNIQUE VEHICLES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A unique vehicle is one of its kind in the game. It is totally different from
a normal vehicle in that it has different looks and has no other similar ones
anywhere.

*****************************************************************************
10.01: SPLITZ 6 ATV
*****************************************************************************

Location : The Compound Safehouse
              Little Haiti, Main Island
Availability: After completing the mission From Zero To Hero
Cost : ,000

This is a six-wheeler amphibian vehicle that you can purchase from your The
Compound safehouse in Little Haiti. It's a nice land and sea vehicle that
almost resembles a mean version of an ATV. The small catch here again, just
like with the other vehicles is that you have to spend ,000 every time you
want to drive one.

*****************************************************************************
10.02: LITTLE WILLIE
*****************************************************************************

Location : Clymenus Suite Safehouse
              Beach, West Island
Availability: After completing the mission From Zero To Hero
Cost : ,000

It's a whiptail gyrocopter of sort. This cute little helicopter type of
aircraft isn't one to just take for granted about. It is dangerously armed as
well, with two machineguns, just like a mini version of a Seasparrow. This
one as well is purchasable for ,000 from the helipad of you're the Clymenus
Suite in Vicepoint.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
11. IDENTICAL SPECIAL VEHICLES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A few of the special vehicles will appear for another time around in another
mission at a later time, but they are exact duplicates of the ones that
appeared from a previous mission. Their special properties are exactly the
same as their counterpart in the final state that they were obtainable.

*****************************************************************************
11.01: FIREPROOF WALTON
*****************************************************************************

Location : Vice Port, Main Island
Mission : Boomshine Blowout
Character : Phil Cassidy
Difficulty : 1
Source : GTA_Loco

The Cholos have made good their threat to blow up Phil's boomshine stash in a
warehouse down in Little Haiti, so at the main part of the mission you have
to help Phil load the surviving boomshines at the back of his Walton truck
amidst flames and debris inside the warehouse.

Phil's Walton will once again be transformed into a Fireproof truck as soon
as you begin the mission. This is perhaps to protect it from the literally
fiery situation down at the warehouse. If you've missed getting this
Fireproof Walton when you did Cholo Victory, this will be your second chance
to have it. The only catch here is you have to kill Phil again to get the
truck, since Phil will drive this away at the end of a successful mission,
where you won't find it anymore.

METHOD 1

Start the mission at Phil's place. After the cut scene, you'll find yourself
behind the wheels of the Walton, as Phil is too wasted to drive again.
Instead of proceeding to your destination, get off the truck, take out any of
your gun, and then shoot Phil through the windshield. You'll kill Phil and
your mission, and the Walton will just remain there, permanently Fireproof
already. Just store it in your garage and then save.

*****************************************************************************
11.02: FIREPROOF PERENNIAL
*****************************************************************************

Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Mission : Robbing the Cradle
Character : Louise Cassidy Williams
Difficulty : 3
Source : GTA_Loco

Louise miscalculated her move on this occasion, by sending out a few goons to
take out a social worker who has threatened to take away her baby, unless she
does something else about it. She realizes her mistake, so she called on you
again for some help.

You must take out the goons Louise has hired, and you have to intercept them
on the road while they are firing upon the Perennial car of the poor social
worker. And after you take out the hired goons, you must also harass the
social worker into giving up his plans to take away Louise's baby. This would
involve any means necessary to scare enough the social worker into
submission, but whatever you do, you mustn't kill him.

The car he's driving is Fireproof so that you can't just conveniently smoke
him out to get the car. The only trouble here is that the social worker will
leave the car and lock it, once you have finally scared him and you passed
the mission.

METHOD 1

Trace the location of the social worker in the map as soon as you start the
mission. Once you have a visual on him, you will find that he's being chased
by a couple of goons riding in a Bobcat and firing at his car. Do a drive-by
on the Bobcat until it catches fire and force the goons to alight. Kill the
goons first before you must attend to the social worker. After the goons are
wasted, it's time to chase the Perennial car the social worker is driving.
Perform a drive-by as well on the car, but be careful not to overdo it or you
run the risk of destroying the car. If everything just goes well, the social
worker will get off his car and will leave a promise to leave Louise in
peace. Along with that promise is his Fireproof Perennial car that only
awaits for you to push to your garage and then save.

*****************************************************************************
11.03: FIREPROOF BOBCAT
*****************************************************************************

Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Mission : D.I.V.O.R.C.E.
Character : Louise Cassidy Williams
Difficulty : 3
Source : GTA_Loco

Marty will show his ugly self again towards Louise by kidnapping her from her
cousin's place and bringing her to his brothel, apparently to force her to
work again as his whore. You must beat Marty in reaching the brothel first,
or at least you shouldn't take long in catching up with him once he's reached
the brothel already, or you will fail your mission to save Louise.

To protect him from getting easily smoked out, he is riding a Fireproof
Bobcat once more on this occasion. Again, if you've missed getting this the
first time in the mission Shakedown, this is another chance given to you to
obtain it. However, you must fail the mission in order to keep the Fireproof
Bobcat, since Louise will drive away this pick up at the end of the mission,
after she drops you off to your new safehouse in Little Haiti.

METHOD 1

You must kill poor Louise so that you can obtain the Fireproof Bobcat if you
want to. As if the maltreatment she received from Marty wasn't enough, you'll
make it even more cruel for her by wasting her just for the sake of keeping a
Fireproof Bobcat.

Proceed to the pink marker over at Marty's trailer as soon as you start the
mission. Ignore the rednecks once the confrontation with them begins, and
instead, get in your vehicle quickly and head over to where Marty's brothel
is in Little Haiti. Now just wait for Marty to arrive at the place, but not
after you have to take out first his goons. Upon arrival at the brothel,
Marty will come charging at you brandishing a stubby shotgun. Kill him if you
want to, then turn your attention to his Fireproof Bobcat where Louise is
also in. This is the point where you have to execute Louise to finally obtain
the Bobcat. Using any of your gun, aim for Louise's head, then shoot her
through the truck's windshield. The mission will fail when she dies, so now
you'll just get in the Bobcat and drive it back to your garage and save. It's
Fireproofing will remain with it permanently.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
12. UNOBTAINABLE SPECIAL VEHICLES
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As usual, there are some special vehicles in the game that are impossible to
obtain for one reason or another. Some have special properties that don't
stay permanently with the vehicle and are limitedly mission specific only.
Meaning, the special properties like bulletproof, explosionproof and/or
fireproof are applied to the vehicle during the mission only, or at a certain
stage in a mission only. They are eventually deleted in the characteristics
of the vehicle once the mission is terminated.

There are also some special vehicles that do not appear permanently in the
game, but are scripted to be deleted upon the conclusion of a mission. So the
vehicle itself is unobtainable.

*****************************************************************************
12.01: GREEN PONY
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Havana Good Time
Character : Umberto Robina
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Source : GTA_Loco

The Green Pony vans Umberto's men will use to haul off the crates from the
Cholos' warehouse have a special paintjob Green, something you can't obtain
from Pay N Spray. However, you won't be able to get any of the two vans,
whether you fail or pass the mission. Successfully completing the mission
requires that you drive this back to Umberto's house, where in the cut scene
one of his boys will drive this away, while Umberto's talking to you. After
that cut scene, the van will be gone for good. You can't fail the mission
either by killing any of Umberto's men during the time they're still loading
up the crates in the vans and even once they've finished already and are
ready to go. The warehouse will close behind the vans and you will find
yourself outside without the vans.

You won't be able to push any of the van outside of the warehouse also prior
to the cut scene showing one of the vans leaving the place. The vans are
stuck on the ground. You won't succeed either if you try dumping into the
water the one you're supposed to bring back to Umberto's place once you get
control of it, since this will only result in you getting wasted.

*****************************************************************************
12.02: FIREPROOF BARRACKS OL
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Truck Stop & From Zero to Hero
Character : Phil Cassidy & Lance Vance
Location : Little Havana, Main Island
Source : GTA_Loco

On a couple of missions, this truck will be your object of interest, and on
both occasions, this truck is Fireproof.

On the Truck Stop mission for Phil Cassidy, you won't have enough chance to
steal this from some Cholos since it will be driving away constantly and the
door will be locked. If you try wasting any one of your buddies, the truck
will disappear. Now if you complete the mission as required, Phil will stash
this in his place where you can't find it there anymore.

As for the From Zero To Hero mission for Lance, passing the mission will have
you and Lance also stashing the two Barracks OL inside Lance's apartment
garage, where you won't find them any of them anymore afterwards. If you kill
Lance by shooting at the other Barracks OL he's driving, both of the trucks
will disappear. If you lose him by staying far away from him, same result
will happen to both of the trucks: they will disappear.

12.03: EXPLOSIONPROOF/FIREPROOF INFERNUS
*****************************************************************************

Mission : Accidents Will Happen
Character : Reni Wassulmaier
Location : Film Studio, Prawn Island
Source : GTA_Loco

This could have been a nice sporty proofed car if only there's a way to
preserve its proofings.

In this mission, you're going to do some stunt driving for a film Reni is
directing. An Infernus sports car will be given to you to perform the stunt,
that will involve a lot of crashing into explosive laden Infernus cars to
generate the much needed action in the film Reni likes to achieve.

The car in mention is Explosionproof & Fireproof as soon as you start the
mission and while the shoot is ongoing. But once you failed it, it will
return back to just being a normal car. Completing the mission will have you
driving the car inside a building, after which the car won't be with you
anymore once you are spawned outside of the building. Failing the mission by
disappointing Reni, running out of time or dumping the car into the water at
any point during the shoot will turn the car back into a normal one as well.
The Explosionproof and Fireproof properties of the car will all be gone.

*****************************************************************************

Mission : Accidents Will Happen
Character : Reni Wassulmaier
Location : Film Studio, Prawn Island
Source : GTA_Loco

In the same mission where you have to perform stunt driving for Reni's action
film, the helicopter Reni is using is immune from bullets and explosions. You
can't steal it though if ever it can be done so as it is beyond your reach
since it is hovering high above you. You won't have enough time either to do
so as your movement while the cameras are rolling is limitedly timed too.
Would have been a nice proofed aircraft if only it's obtainable in some ways.

Too bad it's another unobtainable proofed aircraft. This can fit in your
Clymenus Suite garage, so if only there's a way to preserve its
Explosionproof property, it's all worth the trouble collecting this.

This is the helicopter you're assigned to fly to escort Gonzalez's boat on
the way south to the new hiding place for his stash. The helicopter is
perhaps proofed so that it will survive the exploding attacking boats once
the fierce gunfight starts along the way.

Unfortunately, whatever you do to fail the mission will always end up with
the helicopter losing its Explosionproof property. These include: 1) Allowing
Gonzales to die en route to the hiding place 2)Killing Gonzales by sniping
him even before you and everyone else roll and 3) Killing Gonzales by
shooting at his boat until it explodes.

The game will also reposses the helicopter from you once you have
successfully completed the mission.

Mission : The Colonel's Coke

This is the boat Gonzales will be using in the same mission where you can
find the unobtainable Explosionproof Seasparrow. You can get this boat from
Gonzales by killing him if you snipe him while the portion of the mission
where you have to escort him hasn't been triggered yet, by not boarding the
Seasparrow. The mission will fail once Gonzales dies, and the boat will
remain where it was left, its Explosionproof and Fireproof properties will
all still be in place. But what makes this boat unobtainable is the fact that
there is no big enough garage to store it, aside from it being useless at
all. But just for the sake of collecting, it could have been a nice addition.

12.07: BULLETPROOF SENTINEL XS
*****************************************************************************

Mission : The Exchange
Character : Ricardo Diaz
Location : Starfish Island
Source : GTA_Loco

Ricardo Diaz made a deal with some DEA agents to swap drugs for some weapons
he needs, so you and one of his men will meet up with them on a parking lot
in downtown just behind Lance's hotel. At the hotel parking lot you will meet
up with more of Diaz's men arriving in a Sentinel XS car. Everyone of you
however, will be set up in an ambush by Gonzales's men, and your task at this
crucial point in the mission is to take out all the enemy snipers before all
of Diaz's men dies.

The Sentinel XS car driven by Diaz's men is Bulletproof, but you can only
find it there during the ambush part of the mission and will be gone once it
is over. You won't be able to just drive away with it either as it will
disappear from your control if you go far from Diaz's men before they die.
Allowing the guys to get killed by the snipers will also make the car vanish,
or if you get in it and let Diaz's men die, you will get wasted also along
with them, sans the car.

Whatever else you do as well to try to shield Diaz's men from the snipers'
bullets won't work either. Diaz men's life will continue to expire for as
long as there's one enemy gunman is alive.

Mission : The Exchange
Character : Ricardo Diaz
Location : Starfish Island

The Pony van containing the drugs for the DEA that you're going to drive to a
meet will be transformed into a Bulletproof van once the ambush takes place
in the meeting spot. However, this will also disappear once you survive the
ambush and after the deal with the DEA has taken place already. Although you
won't get wasted if you try failing the mission by letting Diaz's men get
killed by the snipers while you're in the van, the Pony will lose its
bulletproof property.
